Service manual wiring diagram does NOT match up with actual wiring harness

The connection diagram for the left handlebar control box (pg301) does not color coordinate with the actual wiring harness. The manual is saying there is a W/G, W/R, and BL/W wire in the turn signal connection. NONE of these color wires exist at this control box. There is R/Y,Y,BL/Y,O,O/G,R/BK,BL/O,BK/W,BK/Y,BK/R, BK and a GY and a G which both split into two. I am trying to connect all these wires and remove the control box because im scrapping it. for some reason, this control box is wired into the ignition some how and without putting this all back together, the start button wont work.

in order to help you I need to know exactly what you are doing, what you are getting rid of and how you are replacing the parts you are scrapping. I then write up a scematic for you

What year is the bike and what year is the service manual for?
One of the few changes in the Vulcans 20+ years was the auto cancelling turnsignals.
Maybe this is what's causing issues?
