new stator, RR, and still not working

I replaced the stator, the RR, the battery, and the bike is still not charging. I charged the new battery correctly because I have done that several times over the years. I cant see how I could have hooked the stator or the RR up wrong. I can put it on the battery charger and watch the voltage fall as the bike is running. I suspect some type of serious ground problem, but cant find it. all the lights and guages all worked correctly. Bike runs fine. any body ever have a similar problem?

Did you use all stock/factory connectors and wiring? Did you check the voltage at the battery terminals from idle - 3500 rpm?

Was the R/R and stator new?

new stock wiring and connectors, all new parts. I have only had time to check it at the battery. While the bike is idling the voltage is just draining away. I really didnt hold the rpms up. The next thing I plan to do is check the voltage at the stator wires, but one thing ive never understood is the role the two electrical doodads that are mounted inside with the stator. what are they and what do they do?

Was it a Ricks stator?

I'm keepin' all the left over parts. I'm gonna use 'em to build another bike!

Garage
The two doodads mounted inside with the stator are the ignition coil pickups. Not related to charging system.

The stator doesn`t charge at idle. The voltage will drop if only run at idle speed.
Check voltage again at 3500 rpm to see if it is charging.

Be sure to check the ground at the frame. Take it off and clean it. Some times it will be snug but not conducting electricity.

Bike is charging!!! I got it out yesterday and cranked it up and just put it on the battey charger and as usual the battery juice was just falling off. I drove the bike down the road for ten minutes and when I came back it was fully charged but as it idled the battery charge started falling fast again. And this was with all the fuses but the main pulled out. So I have a serious draw on the power somewhere.

Anybody have a schematic of where all the grounds are located? and any other suggestions would be great.
