Batteries!!

Well I need a new battery. I saw Everstart batteries at wal mart, they are sealed AGM batteries but I don't know what the brand's reputation is, are they good?

I only have Wal Mart, Checkers Auto parts, Autozone and Pep Boys available within driving distance (that I can remember).

So what do you guys suggest? I could get a Yuasa AGM, but I'd have to order it and wait for it... would it be worth the wait, or just go with what I've got available?

Deka's and its equivalent rebranded counterparts are popular on this forum. I have a Yuasa on its third year and still going strong. Ordered online and arrived in a few days. Sears is another option, if you have one close by. Most of the recommended batteries here seem to have 200+ CCA. Not sure if that is a good indicator of the batteries quality though.

Well, the Everstarts are supposed to have 210CCA... I could order a Deka for about the same money though... Anybody know what part number I need from Deka? I think it's the ETX15L, but I'm not entirely sure... can anyone confirm this?

That is what I bought back in July, a DEKA. It is now labeled Magna Power. Here's the link:

If it wasn't for time, everything would happen at once!!

hmm that's a pretty good deal... you sure it's the same Deka? lol My EX500 came with a Magna Power battery but not AGM. It doesn't work anymore, likely cause I just let it sit there forever lol.

Where do I look for grounds? Following the negative battery cable I'd find one, but where should I look for the others? Just so I don't miss any.

Here a link to the Deka battery that lance328 recommends. It is a few dollars more than the Magna Power in flap1`s link.

There is a ground cable down low on the back of the engine case.

Thanks for letting me know that ground location, I'll make sure to clean it. Thanks for the link as well, I actually was already watching that one on my ebay already... This one says 190CCA, enough for a 25K+ mile engine? I'm getting the iridiums so I'm guessing it'll be enough.

I also gotta check the voltages and make sure my R/R is working right before I put in that new battery, my multimeter stopped working though, gotta borrow one from a friend...
