okay first to all i have bugged this week i FINALLY followed your advice
i dis assembled switch, cleaned and re soldered connections. seems to have fixed most problems
MEA CULPA i apologize.

That ignition switch has been a large problem with the VN750. are you still having hte surging issues?

I'm going to have to clean my switch this winter.....I have to wiggle it sometimes to get into the "on" position.

yes

still a small surge problem. however seems ike Ive lost acceleration a bit.
am going to try to gas it and ride a bit with more seafoam. then figure how to adjust air screws. thanks for all the support. its My firsy used bike and Im loving earning how to work on it. been riding off and on for a long time but didnt ride for 30 years so its been a great experience.

any hints for this bike and Old rider are greatly appreciated

where to start for the hints on this bike in particular and for on Ol' rider coming back... I think the best thing is to talk to Gordon... aka Ol'hosscanada. He has a lot of usefull information for those just getting into the sport and for those that are just learning to wrench on a bike.

read through my scribd pages... link is in my sig. also check out "Gadgets Fixit Pages" (google it). If you can't find it send me a pm by friday and I wll get back to you... after Friday I am going on a leave of absence from the forums...

I won't enjoy it... I am a VN750.com Junkie... I hope I don't loose cell service during the move, or I will go nuts... I have missed very few days in the past two years where I didn't log on. Even when I was deployed to the far reaches of Afghanistan I still was here... Lets hope I can switch the cable fast so I will only be gone a week or two.
