Question accel super coils

while i had the engine out and had a little time waiting for my stator to return i decided to check out other things on the bike wires coils things like that when i check the resistance on the primary coil it was 5.9F 6.3R i borrowed the other tech's dvom just to be sure and yes i did zero out the leads so this tells me that since the primary resistance is between 1.8 and 2.2ohm i need new coils i was looking at the accel super coils from what i understand our bikes are cdi ignition type accel says their coils for cdi bikes are .7 ohm and inductive are 3 ohm and if this is not within +/- 10 percent of the original it can damage the cdi unit i know dianna has the super coils on her project bike i am hoping she will remember which kit she has but does anyone else have these coils or know which ones work with our bikes.

the ones for points type and inductive pickups is what ours would use, pretty sure ,I checked this out a year or so ago,I can't be certain though.

It's not CDI but TCI. CDI coils are not suitable.

Did you measure both coils? If they are both about the same and you have no symptoms, I would not worry too much about the higher resistance.

accell told me to use the closest ohm range coil for our bikes. from what i was explained to by accell. that information posted on their site about the v-twin is for ignition that use one twin tower coil for both cylinders. most v-twin ignite both cyclinders no matter what stroke the engine is in. so esentially we have a uniqe ignition system on our bikes. I will be ordering the 3.0 ohm coils for my bike.

Harley sportster fenders
