ignition barrel wiring help

Hello,

I've got a '94 that's cutting out randomly while on the road. I think it's something in the ignition.

I've searched a bit, can someone point me to a thread on disassembly and checking the wires in the ignition switch?

Also, the starter just ran and ran and ran after the button was pushed. I don't think these were related. But anyway.

Mike

Hi Mike,

Stripdown of the switch is in the electrical section of the Vulcan Verses.

I did mine a few weeks ago. Made a world of difference!

Okay, thanks. Not sure how I missed that.

Took it apart and didn't see anything suspect with the soldering. Cleaned it all up, contact cleaner, electric grease, etc. Cracked a couple of the tabs putting the plastic case back together. Crap! Attempting to repair it now.

I really didn't see anything glaring in that ignition barrel so we'll see.
