What about the R/R

what happens when the R/R goes out? does it cause costly damage to the whole electrical system? What are the signs of a bad R/R?

Garage
The bike explodes between your legs shooting your nuts into orbit.

The R/R converts the juice comming out of the stator into DC current, and insures that your battery does not get more than a set limit of voltage..keeping the volts at the battery between 12.5 and 14.0 volts. Thus it is the key item on the bike that keeps the battery charged, and as we all know...the bike will not run without a charged battery.

So a bad R/R will result in a dead battery, and if it shorts out internaly, it can take out the stator.

Also if it goes to over charging it can take out some of your lights. If not corrected it can also ruin your battery.
But the most common problen is as stated above.

Forget the "ex"--and balls just get you into trouble. If you've got a good ride, you've got all you need (speaking from 60 years of experience in the field). Just get that RR working and keep on ridin.
