where to buy STATOR and R/R?

howdy!

well i am getting real tired of trying to find the root cause of the charging issue on my vulcan.
i think i will go ahead and purchase a new stator and a new R/R, Kawa has about 21K miles on her, so it wouldn't hurt to change with new stuff
Do you know where to buy a stator and a R/R? I am looking for something reliable, from a trusted "seller"?
Also it would be great to know (part number)what other item i need to get like gasket, o ring...etc

Thanks in advance!

PEACE!!!

Ebay has had the best prices on both.

Before you start throwing money at it, are you sure the alternator is producing a charge?

it's now official the R/R is fried and the Stator is working just fine.
I got the charging system checked at the shop. I'm sooo glad that it's not the Stator.

thanks ya'll

Here are a couple of links to the Electrosport site. The first is a faultfinding tree. http://www.electrosport.com/technica...ding-guide.php

This one explains that some of the tests in the service manual were written when ananlog meters were the norm, and will show a bad r/r with a digital meter, when it is actually still good. They recommend a "FLUKE 110" meter. I know Fluke is more expensive than any of my meters, but this article says the 110 is affordable. http://www.electrosport.com/technica...ting-guide.pdf

I hope this helps, and save you some expense too.
