Question Arrowhead R/R's - Any Experience?

Need a new R/R and the closest non-OEM replacement I can find is made by Arrowhead Electrical Products, based in MN but manufactured in China (like everything else these days). Price from Pat's Small Engine Parts, www.psep.biz , is attractive at $69 (P/N: AHAKI6018, you could buy a spare and still be cheaper than a few other places ) but also don't want to buy a piece of junk. Has anyone else tried one of these and, if so, what's your recommendation?

There was a nice thread on here a long time ago about compatible R/Rs and I have run a used one from some Ninja model for over two years without any trouble. They are so common, they sell for about $30 on Ebay. That's what I would do.

BTW, to the best of my knowledge, all the non-OEM (and probably the Kaw part too) are made in China. I talked to the guy from Rick's about it.

Hey Cindy, I am looking for OEM but ran across this one during my search so thought I'd get some opinions just in case I can't find a New-Old-Stock (NOS) OEM one. This one looks pretty much like a carbon copy of the original. Trying to stay away from used if I possibly can. So far it's not looking real good as mine's an '89 but figure it's worth a try.
