3rd cylinder misfire problem HELP HELP

Hello all. I have a 2005 VN750 with only 3500 miles. Ok I have had this problem for a while now and since my cars are now fixed it's time to get the bike ready to go. I have a misfire only on the 3rd cylinder. When the bike runs I can pull all of the spark plug wires and it drops rpm way down and when I do the 3rd cylinder it barely even goes down. I have replaced all sparks plugs, NGK wires new, front and rear coils new, battery new. I had 2 wires touch just before winter and ever since then it's been misfiring. The 2 wires were going from the strator to the voltage regulator. I know the strator and regulator is the charging system but I have no problems with them. I'm leaning towards the pulsing coils or ICD. Please someone help me.

^ No need to be snooty...LOL. These are V-Twins, meaning theres only 2 cylinders but with 4 valves per cylinder (ie 4 plugs). As for your problem make sure that your coil that the wire leads from is good (even though its new means nothing) Swap the two coils with one another and see if the problem doesnt change cylinders. Thats my best guess from where I am at for the time being.

Peace

EDIT: Had to fix wording to be precise...LOL

I don't think he is talking about valves, I think that he thinks there is more than 2 cylnders.

Either way, good call on swapping the coils. I know alot of "new" ones that went bad.

Kinda seems abit fishy being his first post and all......

Um, I think he only brought up valves as to why there's 4 plugs.

Hey wk, I think all the regulars here knew what you were trying to say, but the new guys would have been even more confused if KM and hyper hadn`t spoke up.

Just be careful from now on when you wash your tongue. You know you can`t do anything with it for at least 24 hours afterwards!! <BG>

BTW Welcome to the Vulcan forum hellsoldier, assuming you are for real, and not spamming us!! I forgot all about this being your first posting in all the confusion of how many cylinders, valves, spark plugs, timing chains and cam shafts the VN has.

Everything comes in twos. Two cylinders and two valves, plugs, chains and cam shafts per cylinder. No third cylinder.

EDIT: I got busted. So hows this, TWO INTAKE AND TWO EXHAUST VALVES per cylinder
