Stator and R/R question

How similar is the problems between the two? I've seen a few post where people said to make sure its the stator that is the problem and not the r/r. so, mainly what im sayin is my bike will run for a day or two if i charge the battery over night then of course the battery dies. i would assume its the stator, the r/r wouldn't cause the same problem would it? im sure some one has answered this already but im just confused

Yes the R/R will cause it not to charge. The R/R is the charge brain. It contols the charging rate.
