VN750 voltage regulator issues

I have been going thru a number of voltage regulater replacment. 3 in the last year. Once changed voltage at 4k is between 14 - 15 as it should be. Then all of a sudden my bike dies, battery not being charged. Go home and fully charge battery. Either voltage at 4k is less than 14 or voltage at 4k is 16+. I installed a separate voltage led to monitor charging voltage as I ride. Any ideas out there. I do purchase non-oem regulators. OEM regulator from Kawaskai are not cheap. VR is a simple circuit. Any insight would be appreciated.

Have you checked the stator? If you replaced 3 R/Rs already because of the same issue, that leads me to believe you have a separate problem
