Stator appearance

Hi All,
I pulled my stator today because I'm replacing balancer dampers. When I looked at the stator, it looks burnt on some coils. Half the coils are copper colored and the other half are black and sticky like melted plastic. Although it tested good last fall, I'm assuming this is probably failing. I'll probably replace it since I have the motor out any way.

Do you keep up on the oil changes? That helps keep it clean. (and cooler, as much as it could be)

I think if I was that far into it already I would definately change it. it would really suck to get her back together and have it fail 400 miles down the road and have to tear it back down especially this time of year!

The RMSTATOR I just bought off ebay seems to be quite nice. You can check out there site too. I'm unfortunatly waiting "another" week now for the bolt that holds the balancer on. I twisted mine right off. The construct of the stator looks impressive. They arte located in quebec & I don't think they are electrosport stators. They will also repair stators. I now have 3 I'm thinking of having repaired & sell.

The black half is probably the bottom from sitting in oil, the sticky is degraded oil. You can clean it off with some simple green cleaner. If you want a new stator, link below.

After doing more research on the Electrosport and RMstator they both sell the same identical stator, down to the description and part number G050, the first two letters are the company. Neither company make the new stators, they are imported from China from BEIJING SUPER PARTS CO. LTD. The new stators from Ricks Motorsports appear to come from the same place.

I called Ricks today. They told me that their stator is wound in the USA and not the same as the electrosport. They also stated that they absolutely believe that theirs is a better stator. I know they have to say that but they have a great reputation so i bought mine from them.
