Kawasaki vulcan 750 turn signals and headlight

I recently purchased a kawasaki 750 vulcan, 1995, and have been fixing it up, first bike. all of the turn signals work, but don't flash and don't respond to the switch on the handlebars. They are just constantly on all the time. What could this be? As well as this the headlight doesn't work, replaced the bulb just does work. Any suggestions?

flasher module for the turn signals.. easily purchased for a few bucks at local auto parts store. I *think* the electronic flasher replacement number is EP34, I am sure someone will verify this. this flasher will work with LED's properly, where as the standard one will not. it WILL work with standard bulbs as well

just a side note: the front signals are dual filament, one stays on all the time (running lights) other is turn signal. Rear are single filament, turn signal only.

as far as headlight, there is a bit in that circuit to troubleshoot. we will need more info

A stock bike won't turn its headlight on until the engine starts. Alternately, look at the 'blue wire mod' to get the headlight to turn on with the ignition key alone.

Since the headlight relay is triggered by the stator, headlight not working might mean it's not charging. You can check the charging volts to see if that's the case.
