Starter button repair

Hi all,

New member here. I have 94 750 and during the course of changing out a throttle cable the spring in starter button somehow came out. I took the rest of the button out to try to repair it. Here is where my problem is, I can not for the life of me seem to be able to get the dang thing back together and back into the housing. Does anyone have any tips or whatever to help me out?
