Bike wont run without disconnecting the black/red wire from the pulsar ignition pickup coils. When disconnected its hard to start and only fires on the front cylinder. I bought the bike and the J/B had a short that burnt thrue the substraight.I cleaned it up, resoldered all the solder points. all traces are still in tact and conductive. Perfect continuity. I did both the 2 wire mod and blue wire mod. Ear shaved, degoated, rejeted, aftermarket thumbscrew enrichment screw, new petcock, new bat(agm), new stator, and R\R,pickup coil mod, new after market ignition. All new fluids. Does it sound like i need a new cdi and j/b? The pulsar ignition pickup coils wires were toast so I resoldered new wire to both pickups.i get 450ohm on both coils when checked. Has anybody fixed this problem been threw the forum just see the problem no solution.

Odd symptoms. Hopefully the new coils and cdi will fix the problem.

Definitely odd. Maybe a short in one pickup coil?

Keep us posted on how the replacements go.

Sounds like the bike was struck by lightning or something, and half of the components got fried!
