WTB: oil cap 11012-1483

This piece broke when I was trying to change my oil. I need one ASAP, I've been without my bike too long this year.

There's usually some on ebay, but I didn't see any yesterday. You might check with some of the bike salvage yards like Pinwall Cycle or Wille's Cycle, Both are on ebay. Pinwall has a lot of VN750 parts, they aren't always shown in a search. I'd call or email them, and search their stores.

I'd think there's a couple here with parts, they just haven't seen your post maybe.

You can also check your local Kawi dealer. Mine had one in stock when I needed it.

Thanks for the info. I will have to check them out. I ended up paying way too much for a new one, but I'm desperate. Ill be sure never to touch it again once i get it.
I'll check them out for anything else I need.

My local dealers are useless. They have yo order anything I need, and end up taking way longer to get it than they should.

It's a good idea to pull it and check/clean the screen when doing an oil change. There's some extra oil that drains from there, and rubber in the screen will let you know when the damper bushings need attention.

The key is to just snug the cap tight, don't torque it tight. Same with the oil fill cap. They both have o-rings to seal.

I'll drain mine from the bottom drain plug, then slide the pan over and pull the side cap/screen. I still get the oil fill cap too tight sometimes, with just my fingers.
Thorn likes this.

Mine didn't have a screen. Looks like there is another piece I need to find a buy.

Ohhh.

There's a rubber 'washer' or grommet on the screen, and a spring that goes in before the cap goes on.

Your new cap has the o-ring, right?

There is a spring in there, and I had to buy the o-ring separate. I still have the one that was on my bike, but since it was leaking i might as well change it.
