Selling my trusty 750. Cross country proven.

My personal bike is for sale. This will probably be my last 750 ever. I'll still be around, but I don't get on any forums much these days. Sorry I don't have more pictures. I can get more if anyone is interested, but there isn't much more to see if you know a 750.

Asking $1500. Clean title, turn key and ride. SE Iowa, can deliver within reason or for the right price, especially anywhere between here, Columbia or Hannibal MO, or St. Louis. PM for my email address or phone number, but I won't post them due to spambots.

It's an 89. It was a good year. From what I've seen, the earlier bikes were best, went to crap sometime through the 90s, then got a little better again. Only things I know of that need attention are general detailing if you want to bother, fork seals are a bit wet but seem fine, left muffler is loose and needs a gasket. By the way, this is not the one that you might have heard I had problems with in Canadia. That was the 94 that I sold which been kicking around on CL ever since. The guy is asking $2500 now, haha. This is the (other) one I've taken to east coast and back twice.

32k on the clock, but she's a real runner and the guys who know me can vouch for how OCD I am on maintenance and tuning (not as OCD on cleaning like KC's bike, haha!) The carbs are tuned perfectly with the pods and mufflers. Seriously, don't screw with the jets or I'll hunt you down and kick you in the shins.

About 1200 miles on brand new Shinko 777's. The triple sevens are awesome, super sticky, and should last a while, not like the cheaper Shinkos. New battery arrived just today. Comes with another battery that I've been using. Comes with 3 piece Tourmaster XL sized luggage. Saddlebag seam has started to split on the bottom but would be easy to fix if you want to.

Corbin seat is really nice for long rides. If you don't do hours at a time, it might feel really hard for you. In that case, I can sell it separately and you can get one of the sofa cushion seats. That'll also raise you up an inch or more back to stock height.

I'll copy/paste some crap from my CL ad, so there's going to be some stuff repeated from above:

---------------

First picture is before the new tires. Saddlebags have a split seam starting in one but I'll throw those with the bike.
Second picture is before the tail light and a lot of other things, but it shows the Fatbob muffs.

34k miles with complete maintenance done. Not a tuneup. Not plugs and fluids. Not a new part when it breaks. I mean actually fully serviced. I ride my bikes alone cross country, so the rear end and driveshaft were disassembled and refreshed, splines moly lubed, cam chain tensioners, carbs removed and fully disassembled for manual cleaning instead of carb spray, ignition pickups gapped, stator and R/R checked, and all of that. You will not need anything for 10,000 miles except gas and an oil change somewhere in the middle. Maybe longer if you're easy on the tires.

Good compression, runs beautifully, screams all the way to redline. Adult owned and never dropped, no burnouts, no fluid drips, etc. Had it up to 100 a couple times and backed off. No problems passing on the highway. I put several thousand on it including cross country trips and Canada without a problem. Got a couple of long haul trophies from rallies. If there was a road, I wouldn't hesitate to ride it to China and back.

Clean title in hand. Cash, no bullsh*t. Might consider trade with cash for a 900 Classic, LT, or similar bikes. Would also consider milsurps or other interesting pieces.

New Shinko 777 sticky tires, not the cheap ones.
New AGM sealed maintenance free battery.
New R/R upgrade to solid state, relocated for cooling.
Air horn is loud. Unique sound that cuts through traffic
Fire & Steel light smoke windshield, hazy but works great (supposed to look over it anyway)
Fire & Steel luggage rack, light brassing. I'll drop $100 if you don't want this. They're hard to find.
Nice Corbin flame stitched genuine leather seat with adjustable backrest (replacement)
LEDs under tank, street legal amber. Lights engine for visibility, also function as side turn signals at night.
Chromed bullet turn signals, metal, not the plastic junk.
LED tail light with Back-Off strobe module. Old one included if I can find it,
Harley Fatbob mufflers with removable baffles.
Washable pod filters, still idles great.
Emissions removed, "coasters" installed, reduces popping and runs smoother.
Professionally tuned and rejetted to match the emissions, intake, exhaust.
Carb cleaned and rebuilt last year (slide diaphragms are pricey).
Victory mirrors and Kuryakyn grips with throttle boss.
Lowered rear heavy duty shocks, about 2-3", gives it more rake too. Handles better and more stable on the highway.
Kickstand modified to work with lowering

Only wrong that I can think of is the left muffler is loose behind the crossover. Should just need a gasket. I'm told Sporty gaskets work and are cheaper. It runs perfectly as is and isn't going anywhere, just rattles occasionally on bumps.

Thanks, Martin. I'll keep that in mind. They are HARD seats, but that's perfect for a long trip. Good shape too, no hot spots or pressure points.

Nitro, I'm not getting out of bikes, just my 750s. I'm hoping to get a 900 Classic or LT so I can futz with final drive ratios and have more luggage room. Honestly they're more reliable too and same mpg. I still have a 1500 Classic, 74 XLCH, and a CX500 for projects. The 1500 is definitely going to be for sale too, probably this spring or summer.
