Looking for gas tank...

New to the forum, we are in search of a tank for 2003 vn750, have seen some on eBay but no luck yet. Any chance any one is in the market to sell? Or have any suggestions? Thanks!

What condition do you want the tank: exact proper paint with no scratches and ready to bolt on or are you willing to do a paint job and possibly a little body work?

This being your first post please go to the Newbie Check-In section and tell us a little bit about yourself such as riding/wrenching experience plus maybe your home location. Also you posted that "we are in search". Is this a shared project or?

Welcome anyway and we will be looking for your full requirements for the tank and your introduction.

I was looking a while back but gave up and fixed my existing tank. Expect to pay $300 for a nice tank to bolt on and ride. If you have patience you can do a real nice job fixing a old tank with dents and spend less than $100.

Used tank

Check out previous post by "Little ugs" . He's got a tank and many other parts. I'm sure he's ready to let some parts go. I helped him with the motor swap, I've seen the tank, it's in good shape with key and lock intact.

Just watch eBay and have some (or maybe a lot of) patience. I've bought 3 tanks in pretty much perfect condition (one NOS) for under $100-130.

It's not every day, but once or twice a year you can sneak a good deal like that.

remember all tanks from 86 on will fit the Vulcan. Keep an eye on ebay. as was stated before. Bought a beauty for $100 from a fellow vn750 owner here.

I recently sold a near perfect tank, but it was for a '97. Any year tank will work, finding one specifically for a 2003 in perfect condition will not be easy. The main things I would look for in a used tank is rust, and make sure the mounting tabs are not bent or broken. You may also need the petcock, fuel gauge sending unit, and cap, if you don't have them, and the replacement tank doesn't either.

I am a motorcyclist, NOT a biker.
