need lock for rear tool box

The rear tool box (behind the passenger seat) is missing the lock and all closing/fastening hardware. All I have is the plastic box. It's getting old using duct tape to hold it closed.

Tried to look up the part # on the recommended Kawasaki site, but was unable to locate it or even a diagram of the part/s needed. I've also called 2 Kawasaki dealers, and they cannot find a listing for the part/s needed.

Try the tool box locks that they sell for the large auto tool boxes. Lost mine also shortly after getting my bike. You have to get the one that is only 5/8 of a inch long. You can get one at any hardware store. Some modification to the latch is need to make it fit properly. The locking tab is to long and has to be bent to work right. Then make sure you secure the locking nut, because you will lose it again. If you try to order it from Kawasaki dealer they want to sell you the whole tool box for about 60 dollors. At least that is what they did to me. In the forum somebody has the number for the part needed in one of the threads about the tool box lock.

Thank you for the help/responses. Somehow the info eluded me the first time checking the "Verses", but now I've found all the appropriate threads. The problem isn't fixed yet, but it looks like the duct tape will be off the box soon.
