Unhappy Help

I had a day from hell!!!!!!!! Roxie Left me stranded 5 times today. The rear coil is fried. It bubbled out the side. It actually looked pretty cool. I also think that the front one my be going bad. Does anyone know of an after market like Accel or something like that, that will work? Anyway, I finally go her home after contemplating giving her a push off a step cliff. I went to try to dx the problem and my starter started smoking. I thinks its the brushes not sure. So, if anyone has a starter or coil or two that are sitting around gathering dust and getting in the way. I beg of you please, part with them for a very distraught VN750er. I will do anything . My wife needs the truck and we do not have another vehicle.

I seem to recall mention of atleast one person having some kind of trouble when they used the Accel coil. Don't remember the specifics though.
It mighta been at the Y! group?

Check around you locally for someone that rebuilds starters and alternators. These guys can usually rebuild them cheaper than you can buy a used one. Check with your local parts stores and they may know someone who does this on the side. Look in the yellow pages under "electric motors--dealer and repair"
I have a retired guy who does this on the side and charges $40-$60 for almost any starter/alt and warranties his work for a year.
