Petcock and Brake pads

Petcock is leaking and front brake pads are in need of replacement.

Before I go dropping money at the local stealer does anyone have a petcock diaphram or a set of pads they would want to sell cheap?

Or if you are willing to trade I have the following I would be willing to part with.

Air Filter Ears (good shape)
Tubes that connect ears to air box
Tubes that connect air box to carbs
Goats Belly
Mufflers
Rear Header Pipe

I bought a petcock repair kit (including diaphragms, gaskets, etc.) on eBay from some outfit in Canada. Cost me something like $10. Let me see if I can find the link for that purchase and I'll PM it to you. It was definitely worth the money.

Here's the website for the company - I forgot to see how much I paid, but I'll go back and check. http://stores.ebay.com/Sirius-Consolidated-Inc

I can hook you up with the pads. PM me and let me know what you want to trade for them. Don't need the goats belly.

I don't do much at the local stealer; I do quite a bit of business at a local bike shop in central DM (awesome guys to work with and bikers themselves) and also get quite a few of my parts from a shop in Indianola owned by fellow club members. Drop me a note if you are interested in the details.

I'm always interested in a new source for parts.

What clubs are you a member of? Thought of joining but haven't looked real hard to see what is out there locally.

If I need mechanic work done that I or friends can't do, I take it to Cycle Clinic on the corner of Hickman and MLK in DM; also get my tires there.

Parts I have been doing a lot of business with Rider's Edge Powersports in Indianola; I know that's a bit farther for you being in Ankeny but the couple that owns it are wonderful and I can typically get parts within a couple days.

I joined the GWTA (Gold Wing Touring Assn) even though I do not own nor ride a Gold Wing; the group used to be GW only but is open to anyone with any bike now. There are several of these groups in central Iowa (2 in DM area and one in Perry) and several others in the state.

I have also ridden with another Gold Wing group (again not just GW); there is a group that leaves Ankeny's Victory Motorcycle parking lot on Wed night's I think at 6:30 for a dinner ride but I have never ridden with that group.

If you are interested, I can send you a copy of our GWTA newsletter for the group I'm with; it has a lot of the local bike nights listed as well as some of the going's on of the chapter.

I've heard of Cycle. Just got a new front tire from them a couple of weeks ago.

Indianola is a little ways away. Sounds like an excuse to ride.

Go ahead and send me a copy of the news letter. My e-mail is [email protected]
