Looking for Items (wish list)

Hi All,

I recently purchased a 2006 vn750. I am quickly building a wish list:

Stock Handlebars (mine came with drag bars or something similar) - or any suggestions of other popular handlebars people use
Luggage Rack
Saddlebags
Engine Guard
Windshield
V&H Pipes
Possibly a new seat

Thanks

I don't know if you wanted the stock kawi luggage rack or not but I am in the process of making a few of my own design. Check my album for pics.

Hi Angell

Ideally I would like a Kaw rack - but seeing as how they are hard to find and expensive I could go for something different.

Yours' look pretty good. A couple of questions:

Does the rack lay on the fender at all? (just wasn't sure and wondered about scratches - I assume it doesn't)
Does it interfere with anything else?
Does it mount in the 'normal' spot or require any modification?
How much weight do you think it would hold?
How much are you asking for one?

Sorry for the questions - just curious

Thanks

Jeff

Those are great questions Jeff - I would be interested to know too.

Angell,

I just read your other post about the luggage rack. I guess my final thoughts would be I'm very interested but like many others would want to be able to keep the toolbox on the bike

thanks again

Jeff

Yes I know the toolbox is really popular. I did make it work with a replacement toolbox cover that I designed. Most people don't want that replacement tho, they want the stock toolbox. I am still working on making that work, but it's kind of a slow process.

But to answer your questions, no it doesn't touch the fender or the tail light housing.
It does not interfere with anything and it mounts in the normal fashion. I can put all of my weight on it and it won't flex (I'm 240lbs btw). I am still figuring out how much v2 will cost to fab, but v1 which won't work with the box is about $80+ shipping.

I wish I had my own welder, then it would go alot faster, but I can't afford to get one right now. I do also plan to make a mounting point for the helmet locks on my racks but that is down the road.

Hey Sudobrew

Congrats on the bike. I got mine in August too (my first bike ever).

I have some stock bars and a new set of saddle bags (Chubby slants). Not sure if you want new or used of the latter, but shoot me a pm if you're interested. :
