Very sorry to hear about your job. Let me see if I can contact a former Forumer (whose bike came undone awhile ago, and *then* he lost his job)) and see if he might be interested. Is there an email address where he can contact you? He lives in Culpeper.

I'm assuming you've posted on Craigslist, too? Dag - this is one very tough market. How's the job hunt going?

Don't know where in NoVa you are, but up here in Brunswick (MD) there's a whole new development being built by Pleasants Construction. I guess they anticipate the market turning around soon 'cause these are pretty large, high-dollar homes for this town. But you might try to contact them - they held off building for awhile, but are going great guns now. Plus, if the commute is too far, there's a small motel in town (Green Valley Inn) where a lot of the railroad workers stay. Not too pricey, so you might be able to spend less time on the road during the week and just head home on the weekends.

BTW, I told him you were asking $2K. You can work your way down to $1800 if you need to, but best to have some negotiating room.
