Wolfgang Gallery/PJD/OCC/Gully's, etc. ride
Was myself, Merc and KC...the usual suspects, lol. Left my house just before 10am, and rode up thru Chester to Rt94 (freshly paved !), then up to Washingtonville. From there we hit Rt 208 and went up to 17k. Rode the 17k dragstrip to Montgomery to Mikey Teutel's Wolfgang Gallery. Well, Mikey was away working on a project, but we were greeted by his lovely and pleasant assistant. Checked out the paintings for awhile (was some nice stuff there), then headed back east again on 17k, only to find it closed. Hopped on I-84 for a spell and opened em up...gotta clean out the carbon sometimes. ya know...got off the very next exit, crossed 17k and stopped at PJD's...
...big sign...deliveries ONLY...windows all blacked out...so, we parked in front of the logo on the bldg and took pics anyway...I can hear Paulie now..."I bet my father sent them guys to spy on us"...lol...
So, a bit bummed out, we headed just down 17k a lil more to OCC...were lots of bikes outside. But man, inside ?...every show bike that was "donated", Sr must have bought back...maybe not all, and mebbe they made doubles of some, but the Dave Mann bike was there. Cant easily make a double of that. I thought that was given to Daves widow. But again, could be Sr just donated to her fav charity in lieu of the bike. Which is fine too. But really, that bike should be in Ted's Museum. Best custom paint Ive ever seen
And know how on the show Sr pushes the guys all the time..figure some wouldda been working Sat, least half a day...nope...shop was dark...only one bike on the lift, and that looked like a mod or repair...all that was left to see was $60 tee shirts...they even had OCC doggie jackets, lol.
So, we took some pics out front, and went on to Gully's. Now, for those who dont know the area, Gullys is a bar/restaurant at the end of Broadway in Newburgh. Right on the Hudson. Literally, ON THE HUDSON. It was an old river barge that was converted yrs ago. Last time I was there was 20-25 yrs ago, so its been there a long time. There's something to be said about longevity. Had a nice meal not 10 ft from the water (VERY reasonable prices too)...tried to get the waitress to sit on my lap to read me the menu (lost my glasses during the ride) but she wouldnt have nuthin to do with it, lol.
Left there and headed south to Cornwall, Rt 218. Told cameraman Merc to "roll em"...we headed up the mountain...lotta twisties with steep cliffs on one side, 200-300 ft dropoffs on the other...pulled into West Point, hooked onto 9w south and headed to Bear Mtn. Got onto Perkins Memorial, and snaked and spiraled our way up. Was full of tourists up on top (natch, a Sat), but we hung out for awhile, took a lotta pics, then headed back down...took some of the back twisties thru Harriman Park, and came back to my place.
Got a few cold frosties, and I made Wolfieburgers and a cuke salad...hung around a bit and shot the shat, then all headed to their respective dens.
Was exactly a 100 mile loop, nice day (sun was a lil scorching), and a good time was had by all. Merc took at least one vid, and around 200 pics, lol...they'll be up for viewing shortly.
