New York-Catskill Gathering-Any Interest?

Anyone interested in getting a Gathering planned in New York? The Catskill Mountains are about 240 miles from Rochester and about 135 miles from NYC. It would also be close for riders in Mass, RI, PA, NJ. Possibly late August or early September. Lake George in the Adirondack Mountains would be close also.

Hey Jim. Sounds like a good idea. Either Lake George/ adirondacks or the Catskills would be cool. The Jersey Shore? Best beach weather is after Labor Day...warm water temp and no crowds. PA, VT...the more the merrier!

Let's get it started. We have enough bikes in different states all within about a 4 hours ride. If we get enough interest we can start planning.

Thats about a 300 mile ride for me but I'd consider it, depending on the dates.

I think 300 miles would be about midpoint for all riders in our Northeast area. If we can get at least 20 bikes this year it would be worth planning. If we can't, we can start plans for a big Northeast Gathering next year. All suggestions are welcome.

Wouldn't it be worth planing if only 3 bikes showed up? I had fun in Erie in 07 with just 4 bikes. And its alot of fun meeting other members Too bad we only did it one year.

YES!!! it will be worth it!

as for only doing it one year.....we did "TRY" to make it happen the few years after, but the thing was, we did TOO much talking about it and never did it!!!

so I greatly advise, to you "JM2001" / Jim, that you do as "Knifemaker" told us before, "pick a place, pick a date" and that's that! if you build it, they will come!!!!
there is no "try" there is only "do or do not"!

if it goes vroom or boom, I LIKE IT!
