My name is Henk Weltje from The Netherlands.
I am 66 years young ;-), married, 3 children and 4 grandsons.
I used to work as a software engineer in Air Traffic Control systems and more recently in Embedded Software Systems. Still working part time.
My old bikes were a Jawa 250 cc (2 stroke) from 1952 with which I travelled all through Europe and later a BSA B31 (350 CC) from 1955.
Lots of hobbies and one of them is my beautiful 1985 VN700.
I kept the bike as original as possible although some changes had to be done as the Dutch authorities applied some rules to some parts when it was imported from the USA. I still have the original USA license plate ;-).
In 2006 I was already a member of this group but had to give the bike some rest. Last month I started the bike but petrol was pooring over the garage floor so I have to do some carb maintenance now.
Because of the corona virus we have to stay at home so I have a lot of time for the job ...
Stay healthy and have fun with your bikes.
Looks pretty stock to me. I see so many of them get butchered up. I love the paint on the tank and side covers on those early models. If I could get a tank and side covers like that, I'd have the fenders chromed. Give it even more of a classic look.
I have been following the adventures of a young lady from your country "itchy boots" on her round the world trips riding a Royal Enfield. Looks like she is currently stranded in Peru because of that stupid virus.
I am a motorcyclist, NOT a biker.
