Years and colors

Lately I've been considering refreshing my bike this winter.ill do a overall check of everything mechanical but don't expect to find anything as it runs and sounds great.bit its a 85 and has quite a few chips and surface rust on the frame at the welds mostly.im considering a color change.the bike is dark blue and I'm pretty sure blue was one of the factory colors for this year.it seems I dont see very many if any at all that are this blue.my question is does anyone know if this is a color that was rare for this year.because I was thinking I don't know if I want to change it if it is a limited color.

I think the blues are spread across the years like most of the other colors, though maybe not so much in the latter years.

2003 - maroon and metallic gray

2005 - Black and metallic silver, the tank I'm using now.

I'd say the black and bright red may be the most rare. But I may be biased, I liked those.

Ya I see blues in alot of the years.i just didn't see it on the spec sheets for year to year.it seems every year has a few different color combos.85 factory colors I see are red or black.i could swear when I first got the bike someone told me the blue ones actually were sold in 84 and where some of the first o es to arrive in the states.i believe it was a salesman at rickroush Motorsports here in Cleveland

I'm pretty sure they used only one color scheme for each year.

The only parts left on mine that look like 2003, are the maroon front/back fenders. I swapped the maroon side covers for chrome, and used a 2005 tank. Need to paint the fenders black now.
