I run 20w- 50w straight motor oil, any brand you like!
Generic oils is all i use, supertech, parts master, napa etc.
Some folks get real heavy into the oil.
It is always an opinion thing really.

Use what works best for your bike, I didn't have luck with the 15-40 Rotella that a lot use. I went the the Castrol Synthetic 10w40 last time and love it.

Shark:

I used Castrol Syntec in my Honda Rebel and messed up the clutch. Don't use energy conserving oil (look in the little circle logo to see if it is) in any bike with a wet clutch.

I'm keepin' all the left over parts. I'm gonna use 'em to build another bike!

After reading this thread, I bought some Rotella for the first change in my bike. I like synthetic oil and the Rotella is not energy conserving. Castrol Syntec is.

I'm keepin' all the left over parts. I'm gonna use 'em to build another bike!
