Really dumb ?

I have an extremely dumb question... how in the world do I get the seat of my 01 Vulcan? (no manual with my bike)

I just bought it Friday, realized it had the stock battery, bought a new one sure even I could replace a battery until I realized I didn't know how to get the seat off. There's a bolt up front which would be hard to reach, but there has to be more.

On a more cheerful note, I now have a great bike after looking for one for months. It only had 1200 miles on it, but's been sitting for a few months. Rode it 400 miles this weekend and loved it.

Thanks for all the info I've gathered so far, and for not laughing at me too hard for not being able to perform such a simple task.

Re: Really dumb ?

Thats simple.

Open the little trunk box behind the passenger seat. There are two screws. Take them out and the seat will pull out towards the tank and up.

Good luck with your new bike.
I love mine! (riding for 3 months).

Re: Really dumb ?

Not a dumb question. Ask away as we all do.

You can download a manual for your bike here:

Thanks to both of you! I appreciate the link too. I needed that. I'm off to get the bike running again.
