First VN

Hi peeps from the land of the emrald isle, top of the morning to ya all, thinking of buying a 1994 VN 750 only 10k miles genuine. can you guys point me in right dierection as of what to look out for, the stator issues has me a little worried as too the work to replace. as there other issues to be watching out for. Cheers!

Welcome aboard, I live in the North, just outside Belfast The VN certainly has a few quirky issues, but with the wealth of knowledge on this forum and from a lot of the members, you'll not be stuck for advice. Read the Verses, that'll give you an insight into VN750 ownership

Just got my first bike a few days ago. A 1995 VN750. It's so beautiful and runs great! Only thing is that it has an oil leak near the stator. There is a leak on the seal of the crankcase (where the two parts meet up) on the bottom. It isn't too bad, but I didn't notice it when I purchased my bike, and I figured out it was a $800 fix in the shop, because you have to remove the motor to replace the gasket. So make sure you check for oil leaks on the bottom of the bike too! Get down on the ground and actually look under it! haha. I'm sure this was one of the more common issues, as it was stator related. I guess a previous owner replaced the stator on the bike and just didn't quite get the gasket right. I don't know much about bikes, so this is the only thing I can suggest! Take a friend with you to help too!!

You'll probably be interested in reading Used VN750 Bike Check from the Vulcan Verses.

And while you are in the Vulcan Verses, read any other topics that'll help you know the bike better.

Dry rusty splines finally lubed for the first time
R/R relocated to the side of fuse box
Rust removed from tank
In line fuel filter, 23-28 micron rating

16 color LED engine light up & underglow
