Clutch Cover

I have scratched my clutch cover while cleaning it. I want to replace it but to be more specific it is not the entire clutch cover. Just the part that has the emblem on it. It say "Kawasaki" at the top and DOHC B-Valve" at the bottom. The manual says to pry off the clutch cover with a thick-bladed screwdriver. Is this part removable or do I have to get a new entire clutch cover with the emblems on it. Thanks for any help.

Garage
It is a thin aluminum plate that is glued to the thicker cover. I removed mine on both sides.

I pried it up a bit with a blunt plastic chisel and then ripped it off with vise grips. Some Goo Gone cleaned off the left over adhesive.
Photo here with it removed:

I saw a guy on Ebay selling replacement "adhesive covers" not long ago, if you're thinking of replacing it after you pull it off.

Clutch cover

Thanks. At cyclepartsnation.com I found the replacements. Clutch cover $20.12 and Generator Cover $39.41. This web site also has a lot of other parts for the VN750. Worth a look.

I want to replace the covers. What type of adhesive would you recommend?

They should be peel and stick.

Clutch cover

Okay - peel and stick. Must be strong adhesive if someone had to use vice grips to remove.

Just cause it's peel and stick doesn't mean it's wimpy. Some of the stuff I deal with in the Navy is peel and stick and once stuck, it ain't coming off for no one without a major fight. This is assuming of course that the surface has been properly prepared.
