I've been eyeing these seats on eBay. I'm want to give the scooter and "old school" look. Thoughts on appearance and if it might work without a lot of mod work?

Personally, I'd shave the stock seat down to try and get the skinny old school look you are after, then you aren't worrying about modifying mounts/brackets etc. You already have the extended back rest, so maybe with a bit of modification, you could make the entire seat one piece?

That's a real nice looking chopper seat btw

Don't know for sure, but I'm thinking it's a lot of trouble getting that seat to fit, if it will at all. You only have a certain amount of space between the gas tank and rear fender, the Harley it's made for tends to be a bit longer. Would be good to get some measurements on the king/queen seat to know more before buying.

And then you have to build a sissy bar to support that high back. If the seat extends beyond the stock location, time to re-invent the grab bars etc.

As narrow as that seat appears, you may end up seeing everything that's behind the side covers, battery box, wiring etc.

I knew y'all would have some useful advice! Thanks! I definitely don't want a lot of headache trying to get it to fit. I've been reading about the "seat shave", and it makes good sense. I just have this nightmare going on in my head that I'll be in over my head, and come out with something that looks like it was run through a shredder. However, it seems the most logical option. The seat in the picture is really sweet looking, but I think I'll give the shave a go in the coming weeks. I'll post a picture of the finished product. As far as the seat itself goes, whatever the seat, I'm wanting to sit lower into the scooter and a little further back. My seat makes me fill like I'm riding high and forward. I'm 5'11", and my knees bend past a 45 angle with my feet on the pegs. Thanks again!

I'm the same height as you and I'm having my stock seat shaved and reupholstered for the exact same reason, I also use an Airhawk seat pad which increases comfort riding ten fold, but also increases the height. I'm lucky that I have a friend who is a vehicle upholsterer who's doing it for me over the winter

Looking forward to reading/seeing your's taking shape

I appreciate the stock seat more after riding 200 miles on the Mustang seat. Too painful for me!

Have the same problem, the stock seat makes my legs too long.

My seat barely has any padding, which is good because I'm a short little bastard. Bet you can't guess how short.
I've been on hour long trips and surprisingly it doesn't hurt me. But maybe that's only because I'm so small that the wind carries me and floats me above the seat.
If your a passenger, however, that's a different story.
