gas mileage issue

My bike gets 130 miles per tank usually. The last 2 times I filled it up it got 68 miles each time. Something has changed dramatically. Give me some ideas what to check. I looked for leaks, but found none. I know it dries fast so I looked very well. Since I have eliminated leaking as the issue I need to look towards places it could be burned, trapped and evaporating, etc.

Check: Petcock vacuum line (both ends), it should be dry. Oil level (ahem), and does it smell like gas?

Meanwhile, read this if you haven't already: https://www.vn750.com/forum/22-carbs-...en-parked.html

Having this same problem with mine right now. My oil is over full and smells like gas, vac line is wet at the carb. It's a dang pandemic!

First thing that *I* would check would be that i was checking the right bike, but i'm probably older than you and did a lot of drugs when i was young.

Thank gawd i only have one bike now.

Do you both have the new petcock with the OFF and no Prime?
