Angry Throttle adjustment

I have a 2005 VN750. I can't seem to get the two throttle cables adjusted correctly. There seems to be "slop" or "lash" in the throttle no matter how I adjust them. I followed the directions in the owner's manual but the feel of the throttle still bugs me. Anyone have that problem?
Thanks,
Dan - Seattle

Re: Throttle adjustment

Did you use factory replacements or after market? I aske because I tried after market and they were too long and could not be adjusted properly. Also, some "slop" when the handle vars are centered is good. You want to also check it all the way left and right, when the bars are turned the "slop" is less.......

No, the bike is brand new. I do notice there is less "slop" when the handle bars are turned all the way right or left to the stop.
