Key Code question

yes, this is another key code post!

i have keys so everything is fine for now, but i did lose my key code. i have read that it is on the ignition cylinder, the gas cap, and on the helmet lock. i took my helmet lock off, because i was moving them, but i am not sure how to get the cylinder out.... or if i have to get the cylinder out. i also, dont really remember what i am looking for. i seem to remember that the code was only numbers? is that correct? is the key code 4 numbers or 5? i am also about the replace my fork seals, so figured id double check the ignition cylinder too. but since i dont remember what the code format is, i thought id ask before i start looking for random numbers to make a code out of.

thanks.

by some miracle my old phone saved my key code on the gmail cloud....or something like that. when i registered my new phone it asked if i wanted to download all my saved files and like magic, i have my key code again! for anyone that finds this while searching for key code info, it is a 5 digit code with letters and numbers. if you use the same key for your helmet lock then the code is on the back of the helmet lock. you do not have to take the cylinder out. it is stamped on the back edge of the lock body. it is very hard to read. i would recommend looking at both of them. if you are reading this because you looking for key code info, please feel free to PM me. i can tell you exactly were to look now.

Cool. I know there is also a short code on the back of the helmet locks, fewer digits than the number of pins, but it works. I got a cheap vn750 one time because it had no key. I picked the helmet locks (which took about 2 seconds to take because the're three wafers), and had a local locksmith decode and cut a new key that for everything.
