thinkking on a new bike, any opinions

not sure but looking at maybe something along the lines of a vtx1300, a meanie or the similar type yamahas. any input is appreciated, looking to buy one next week hopefully.
As for the vn750, not sure what I am going to do with mine at the moment. I really really hate to part with her but Im sure I wouldnt ride it much with a new one let alone the extra tags and insurance. could let my stepson tag and insure it but he is 6'2 and 210 lbs so I dont know.

Just curious, but with 132 miles per day to work, how many miles does she have on her now?

that was quite a few years ago I did that kind of miles to work. I have since transfered quite a bit closer to home many years ago and half of last year and the one before I had the engine out of the bike for an oil leak/damper replacement/stator cover mod. got her back together last year and she runs great.
It now has like 46 or 47000 on it and just needs a speedometer cable and could use fork seals replaced!

Just curious again, hope you don't mind, but with all of the work you've done for her ( i've read a slough of your past posts ), what is the impetus to replace her?

I dont mind you asking at all, just want a newer plus bigger size more suitable for 2up riding. my little girl is now 13 and a very big 13yo plus my wife is not petite whatsoever and does not fit on the back of the vulcan without me getting clear up on the tank and we have bottomed it out quite a few times pretty hard.
Im torn on getting rid of my bike I really am, I enjoyed the hell out of everything I been through on it. hell I rode through a tornado on that little thing, hit a dog and layed her down with little damage luckily. had the motor pulled twice once in an 8x10 garage. had a motor mount nut fall off and had to ride 15 miles holding the bolt to keep it from falling out. hell I can go on and on but I just really think its time to move up.

The VTX 1300 is a nice bike. Lots of add ons available for it.

And of course I'll suggest a Triumph America, great engine.

I have a few hours of work left to get my '86 on the road, but keep getting side tracked watching my 18 month old grow up. It's an easy decision, but stinks on the commute to work when the weather is nice.
