Newbie Here 94 VN A10 750

Good Morning Everyone. As the title states, I'm a newbie. First bike in 40 years. So, with the intro out of the way, here is whats going on.
Just bought a 94 A10 750. It has 26,000 on it and has been "semi" cared for. All stock as far as I can tell,
The Bad:
Needs a pitcock,
passenger pegs
seal covers on front forks
Brake light doent light with rear pedal, but comess on with front brake applied
Seat was recovered, bad job
Rust here and there, head light bucket, exhaust from head, rusty or very off color, bolt heads on front rotor are alos rusty
Small dent in tank
Ignition switch short sometime
"Pops" on decelaration
The Good:
Cheap
Semi daily rider for PO
Built in Trickle charger
New Tires
Carbs redone

What I want to do:
Grips
Repaint ( this winter)
Exhaust
Seat, new or recover
Windshield
Additional Drive lights
What and where would you suggest starting, link to parts,
Suggested Mods?

TIA
David DFW TX.

First thing to do is make sure you have a maintance free AGM battery in there, if not , get one. Do not put this off, I mean it.

Then use a bit of silicone sealant around the threads of the lock in the rear "box". Otherwise you might lose the lock $$$$.
Same goes for those chrome caps covering the swingarm pivot...they tend to fall off too.

Buy a can of Seafoam , and start using it on a regular basis.

Read every thing you can here...

Welcome to the club BTW...

Damn KM

Where the heck did you get all the ideas for your bike? I looked at your flickr site, way to kool.
You need to start selling that stuff.

Thanks everyone. Got the MF battery today. O'Reileys carries a perfect fit, ETX15L and is 73 buck.
OK, battery sin, now to find the other little elec problems. Looking at how he wired some additional lights, no telling what I will find.
PO aded a small set of running light that I would like to add into the light switch, wouild that be OK? Should I add a relay? Or wire seperate? If wired seperate, where would you suggest a switch?
Also, where is the best palce to buy and then to relocate the rectifier?
So many questions.so little time

best place to mount the R/R is above the left hand passenger peg...Bull dog sells a good kit for relocating...not sure of the best R/R to buy...I just made my own brackets and mounted a stock r/r i bought off of ebay...but if you look at pics of my bike you will notice that every thing done to it I have done myself.

I used a relay and connected it to my bright lights. I also have a switch to turn the lights off If I want. I located it on the clutch cable with zip ties.

Oh, I had 50 watts lights, but they pulled my volts down to 12 volts or less. I changed over to 30 watt bulbs, it does a bit better.
