compatible parts--94' and 01'

My 94 Vulcan needs some love (and parts...) starting with an exhaust system..(previous owner cut the pipes, why I have no clue) anyway, I found a pretty decent condition 01' to part out. I read somewhere on here that all years 750 exhaust are the same size..and will fit (yes? Only one person actually said that).. What other parts will interchange?? Even cosmetically, like can I use the tank and fenders? Will they line up right? I'm thinking of taking the 01' to get some experience taring down a bike (and experimenting with Matte Black paint!!!) Any info/input you guys have I would appreciate!!

Yes. All Vulcan 750 parts from 1985 until 2006 are interchangeable. There are some minor differences, such as some have pollution control devices, but fenders, tanks, speedo's, most everything will fit. Go for it.

As proven here yesterday, there are some differences in older/newer wiring harnesses, but they can still be used.

There's pretty much nothing that won't interchange.

I thought we had a thread giving the various changes through the years....

Only real concern is if you're needing a new front brake lever, as they changed them in ....'96? .... They are different and do not interchange, but every other part on the bike does.

That's true, earlier models have the square master cyl, later has the round one, and a different lever. But if you had to, you could still swap cylinders using the correct lever.

Agreed, the black part of the 85/86 rim goes well with the 85/86 tank. If they were the 87+ silver rims they would not look as nice imo.
