Need help

So literally I just purchased my 2001 Vulcan 750 yesterday and I need to change the oil and spark plugs, and of course the bike came without a manual of any kind so...

What type of oil should I use? I am in a colder climate here in eastern Idaho if that makes a difference.

How much oil will my bike need?

And what kind of spark plugs do I need to get?

Sorry I know stupid questions, but I figured you guys would know... I can't seem to find a specific answer online anywhere.

The bike uses standard 10w-40. You can also use Rotella 15w-40 as well, many people (including me) swear by it.

Do not use any 'high mileage' oil with added stuff. Base 10w-40 dino oil, or if you want to send $50 on an oil change you can go with the synth motorcycle oils (Mobile 1 RT, etc - not really suggested for our lower performance engine)- 3.25-3.5qts to fill her up - watch the sight glass and take your time (center stand).

Spark plugs are in my signature - go for the iridiums like I have. Makes a world of difference.

Look into replacing the battery with an AGM style if it has a standard wet cell.

What do you mean spark plugs are in your signature? Is there a specific number for which ones I should get?

Thanks for the info guys one last thing for now at least, when I went to check the brake fluid in the front brakes it looked like old used oil, so I bled the whole thing and put new fluid and tried for hours to get the air out and get the pressure back but no luck? Is there a special way to do it? I currently have no front bakes :/
