oil light came on....
I rode in to work and back, no troubles. This morning i poured in a bottle of Seafoam in the gas tank and when I got home, I was pulling the bike backwards to its parking position on the walkway, the engine was still running and then the oil light came on. I turned it off for a minute or so, turned the key to the on position and the neutral and oil light was on. I went ahead and started it up and the oil light immediately went out.
Can the oil light come on like that giving a "false reading" so to speak?

THat sounds a little odd, although I s'pose there could be a problem with the sensor. Your oil level is otherwise ok? And you didn't drop the bike or anything (see this thread: https://www.vn750.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7193)? You might just check the sensor connection and make sure it's on snugly (maybe as you were backing up you hit the lead with your leg or something??).
Did you pour a whole bottel of sea Foam in the tank?
If so that is way to much, not sure what it will do but you will probabley be running lean. Even a full tank is only 3 gallons, I believe 3 oz per 8 gal if I rember right.
I do not see any way sea foam in the tank will affect the oil light though.

Several members have done it with great results. It's just IMO a better alternative to taking them out to clean.

I would check the level and also see when it was changed last. You may need to change it and the filter.

Was the bike pointed uphill? The oil pump pick up is is in the center forward part of the engine and if your oil level is low, it can cause the oil pump to cavitate dropping the oil pressure. Since it went off after, at least the pump re primed and is now pumping. Check your oil level.
