Help, bike keeps bogging down. Brother Wib needs help! LOL

any thoughts are appreciated, and here is what it is doing.

bike runs like a champ, get about 20 miles or so on it and both times it has done the same thing. the first time I was running about 50, came out of a curve and shifted from 5th into 3rd to pass a vehicle, it cut out and started sputtering and just ran doggedly the couple miles home in all gears. noticed the big rubber boot on the right side carb wasnt fully on so I thought that might be the culprit, got a good seal on it and all seemed fine, went out yesterday to town and back and it ran great till I shifted down to 3rd again to go up a hill out here in the country and it started bogging down again, ran like that 3 miles home in all gears. choke made no difference, I believe last time I opened the gas cap to rule out poogs and made no difference and all hoses seem intact on carbs? I did just do the stator plate mod and may have forgot to adjust my pickup coils but I wouldnt think that would give me these symptoms.
Any thoughts, thanks!

Yeah, your gap might be off. You took them off to do the stator, right? If they are off, it won't run right.

I am also dealing with a similar stumbling issue that I think is the pickup coils. I plan to do the gap mod to make sure they're in the perfect spot.

I did the gap mod a few years ago but forgot to reset it when doing the plate mod, I just wouldnt think it would run fine for a while and then just up and start running rough when gunning the throttle.

Any plug wires shorting out to ground? Also check the coil connections. Kick stand safety switch does crazy stuff like that too.

Are you ear shaved? Carb vent hose in dead air? How about your gas, near halfway mark or lower? POOGS? I'd bet on the carb vent hose.

Is the tach jumping? If so it could be a loose ground.
