Just bought a 92 vn750, now what?

I just bought a 92 vulcan 750, it has 13,000 miles on it. So what do i need to check, need a to do list/ check list. I took the the intake covers off and seen this, dont know what to make of it. I think its oil from the crank case.

Probably gasoline from a stuck carb float. Looks like you're in for a carb cleaning.

So after looking at it all yesterday i have a need to do list, no power to head light (maybe bad switch), smoke/exhaust coming out of right side where the exhaust mounts to the engine, it doesn't look like its mounted right... either that or its coming from around there. Battery is shot, needs blinkers and lastly when i rev the throttle and release it the bike continues to rev for a second or two. I had a video but i cant post links until after my 5th post....

mine looked like that when i pulled em turned out to be to much filter oil also looks like u need new filters there should be a filter over the front of that white plastic too

Yep missing the foam from your filters. You are going to want a new set. I might have some lemme check.

The power to headlight: This can be a failed stator if your headlight does not turn on. Check the bulb, fuses etc, but if all look good test the stator voltage. You may find it's shot on one leg. Stator testing stuff is in the electrical section, look for a checklist by slimvulcanrider.

You can ditch the airboxes entirely with a mod known as an earshave, few different methods (pod filters vs filter up under the tank).

Yeah, when i pulled off the covers they were torn and soaked in that ****, so i threw them out lol. Im goin to put those small coned k&n filters on, like this
