Fluid reservoir on right side

I KNOW I'm gonna feel like an idiot for even asking this, but I can't figure it. I don't think it's brake fluid, because the brake it is near looks mechanical and not hydraulic. I don't think it's oil, because I already changed the oil, and added that to the OTHER side of the bike.

Coolant?

Does this thing need tranny fluid? I thought I read somewhere that the engine oil also lubricates the transmission in this bike?

It's for coolant.

Previous owner of my bike put oil in it.

the reservoir on your right handlebar is brake fluid, on the right side of the bike below the seat and to the rear of the engine is coolant reservoir

Nice! Thank you!

Does it take any old coolant, or is there something special for it?

You must use coolant that says on the bottle that it is formulated for use in aluminum engines. Walmart SuperTech coolant is good.
