picking up the car 50th today

I'm on my way to NYC long island to get the hurricane Sandy bike. Wish I had someone else going with me. I would have sprung for lunch.

NY was really nice today. It was cool by the beach. The house was pretty amazing where the bike was kept. The guy called me from the city and told me he could see me on the camera. Pretty creepy but I ignored the whole ordeal. I loaded the bike on the trailer with the help of his daughter. She held the brake and I pushed the ****z out of it from the back.

Hmmm.....just the kind of inept help a guy craves, eh?
I missed any previous discussion of the Hurricane Sandy bike.
The picture of the bike looks pretty good, but was it under water or something so it wouldn't start to load it?

There is still water in the headlight. It prob. is from rain. The bike was said to be under 8 feet of water. Imagine...out of all thing things we do with and to our bikes, MINE went to the beach and played in the OCEAN!

The bike barely moves as it's pretty much a rust bucket. The engine has almost 10,000 miles on her. She's a 91. I might hallucinate and think I'll take the engine apart this summer and put it back together to sell. Otherwise, I don't think I could ask for much for it.

I was under the impression you already had the bike in a storage locker...unless this is a different bike you found.
Good luck with it...if you need anything, let me know.

I kept putting off picking up the bike as I didn't have a place to put it.

I reserved the locker at 44 dollars for a 5x10 and planed to keep two bikes there. Great price by the way. Then I was told the rust bucket bike needed insurance. I didn't want to pay 100 dollars for insurance to store it. My buddy told me to sneak the bike in the locker and I didn't want to have any problems so I decided to keep it at my buddies shop. He's charging 20 a month but it beats paying insurance and locker costs. So, I need to decide what I'm going to do with it. Thanks man.

Congrats on the bike. I was going to ask what you plan to do with it but you just said you don't know yet. Have you thought about tearing her down, cleaning her up, and wrenching her back together? How much did you pay for her? Maybe she's a learning bike...
