General Introduction and Question

I just bought a '99 VN750 on Saturday. 15.5k miles, in great mechanical and aesthetic condition, I paid $2100. This is my first bike and as soon as this ****ty PA weather warms up I'll be in a school parking lot learning to ride(No permit/licensee, only 15).
So I'm wondering if any you have any advice or words about the bike as well as any advice to start riding. Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys.

Welcome to the nuthouse. Read the Vulcan verses. You'll learn a lot there.take a learning course as well before you pick up any bad habits like us ole farts.but most of all, have fun.and watch out for all the other vehicles out there, cause they don't see you.I ride like everyone is trying to kill me so I stay safe.keep your eyes open to all your surroundings and you'll be ok.trust me when I say nothing beats riding.where in PA are ya?we've got a few members in PA and Northern Jersey that could help with problems on the bike

X2 on what doc says.
It may seem like much but read all of the verses, it'll get ya in better relations with your bike and what to expect from her
Just always drive defensively and have a blast.
Right on ya starting at 15!

Thanks guys. Im near Lancaster, PA. This is definitely a dumb question, but I'm having trouble navigating the forum. When I click on any of the different forums(general discussion, ect.), there's no list of posts or anywhere to see a list of posts. A little help would be appreciated

Welcome Willy. Take 'er easy, she's a torquey little bike. Use small inputs on all aspects of the bike when you're starting out. Don't crank the throttle, don't mash the brakes, and don't yank the bars - smaaaaaaaall inputs, niiiiiiice and easy. Relax and you'll be fine. Remeber it's fun. Post up some pics of your bike when you get a sec too. Congrats on getting your first ride - you're gonna freekin' love it.

Welcome!

x3 on everything the guys have said so far... also, don't skimp on good riding safety gear, and ALWAYS wear it while you're on the bike... it might not seem as cool as riding with just jeans and a t-shirt, but it'll save your life!

Thank you all. I'll post an album of the bike. Do you guys recommend armored jackets or is it not worth the extra cost? That's the last thing I've been considering before I purchase the gear
