Unhappy I can'nt wait to ride!

The winter in SW Iowa has been long and hard. I have not had a chance to ride save a short trip around the block. I just am going nuts man, I need to ride or I may die. This summer I hope to take a short trip. To where, when, I don't know, I just have to go! Surely you understand.... Sorry I lost control there for a spell.

Blow off Iowa, come to California, and take this tour. I've been on 4 or 5 Pashnit tours, they are incredible.

Or - just get out here - there are roads that will blow your mind. PM me if you want road suggestions, from goat trails to high speed sweepers. Time to !

Or just check out some of EQ's ride reports and pics on the Pashnit site.
He has a way of making you feel just like you ARE riding as you read his reports and admire the shots he takes along the way!!

27 degrees will be the high here today. Below 40 is just a little too cold for me, especially in the early morning without any sunshine.

March and April can't get here fast enough.

Virginia is nice in that we are right on the edge of the bad weather. A day or 2 every couple of weeks it will get warm enough to ride comfortably - heck it hit 72 yesterday - but it was raining! Anyway I was able to get in a short ride this past weekend.

Cabin fever in Kansas City

I know how you feel although I don't really park my bike for the winter. I will ride occasionally and commute day or two a week all winter. I took my bike out for a 20 miler yesterday but it was like 18 so it really wasn't a lot of fun. I should have rode today since the sun is out but the high is 40 and that is coming up from around 8 and that is colder than I can stand. Spring cometh, not nearly soon enough but inevitably it will be here.

It was 50 degrees and sunny out on Sunday and I'd just got the bike put back together from my winter chop project so I took it out for a quick 10 mile or so ride. It was spitting rain but it felt great to actually have it out and be riding. There was about 6 other people I saw out that had the same idea as me. Of coarse now it 18 degrees and snowy again here in northern Indiana. Few more weeks and I'll be riding alot more as soon as I get the bike back from paint...gotta ear shave while its being painted and tune real quick then I'm ready for spring!!

I'm really considering picking up some heated gloves to allow riding in the colder times. I see this set from a company in the UK uses heated inserts with rechargable batteries.

I really like this idea and prefer it to running anymore power off the already overloaded battery. Anybody have any experience with these type of gloves?
