This is a great board

I really enjoy this board. There are plenty of knowledgeable and helpful people here. I will say that it really takes away from it when people get to arguing back and forth like lil girls.

People have different ways of doing things. Very little of it is right or wrong, just a matter of preference. Is there some reason why we cannot express our differing opinions and let the person asking a question choose which way to go for themselves?

I would really hate for this to be a place that becomes useless because of things like this. I know I have learned alot in the short time I have been here and it would be nice for others to get the same experience.

PEACE people, really.

This is a great forum. Folks are allowed to argue here, just as long as it doesn't get out of hand and they start launching personal attacks.....which seems to be something a few can't get a grip on...

Knifemaker, I agree that you notice it less when threre are more members. I was happy to find this place and would love to contribute more as I have been fixing/modifying things for most of my life. I actually enjoy working on things.

My statement about the bickering was meant to suggest that some people should relax a bit and realize that these are only words. No real harm will come to anyone so, they should not get so worked up. I (maybe wrongly) assumed that we were brothers who ride similar steeds and could really enjoy discussions that affect these particular breeds.

I know that I am a "newbie" here so I guess I'll just be quiet and continue to skip all the negative banter.

BTW, I am not sure if the last part of your post is suggesting I (and others) go elsewhere so please clarify and I will be happy to do so. I love sharing but I can pretty much figure things out for myself if unwelcome. I personally do not deal with negativity anywhere in my life as I have too much joy to let petty stuff bring me down.

PEACE

That last part was meant for those that seem to have nothing else to say except to just bad mouth the forum, bitch about how it's run and make statements like "I don't know if I'll stay"....

To me, if someon is not happy here....they should leave. We don't need to see constant negative comments and really .....why subject oneself to something if it doesn't make you happy?

That of course was NOT directed at those that hope to or do contribute to the forum and..... as you wrote, think- "This is a great board"

You are whole heartedly welcome here 2000Vulcan750, and I hope to see you post up some of your knowledge.

KM

That's cool

Well I hope people decide to act like grown people. I look forward to sharing as I get more into this bike. I plan to stick around.

Good. Looking forward to that myself.

One of the administrators asked if they should be "concerned sbout folks leaving this site."

I told them we get new members every week. Folks go and new ones show up...at a slightly higher rate than those that leave.

It's the circle of life.

I also believe this is a great forum. The way I see it, it has one main problem, and if that changed, about 80% of the issues would probably go away. I can't go any further, because I'm not going to get into personal attacks. But if you put some thought into it, it should be obvious where the problems come from.

I like this forum, but I don't have that much to lose if I get banned. I can still read it, plus after riding VN750s for 21 years, I pretty much know all I will ever need to know about them. But despite it's long production run, it is still a rare bike, most people don't seem to know what it is. It's kind of nice that there is a place where most everyone speaks the VN750 language.

I am a motorcyclist, NOT a biker.

yeah we have a few negative people but I just ignore them but I think you hit the nail on the head, whether its my homemade tensioners or jerrys store bought toc's or doing a stator plate mod or I wouldnt cut up my bike it is all personal preferrence and I just throw out my options without getting into a pissing match! (btw, I start my day with coffee, switch to a pepsi then a couple monsters and can piss a long ways LOL)
I hope you stick around and contribute your 2cents and enjoy the boards for years to come same as I have!!!!!!1
