Get a battery tender and plug it in for the winter. Also use "Stabil" fuel additive to keep the gas fresh. If you want to run it without the lights pull left side cover; remove the headlight and running light fuses.

Too cold and wet to ride here.

I vote for the tender as well. It's a good investment. Unless something has changed over the last year, get some Seafoam and put that in your tank. I've heard a few complaints on this board about Stabil.

Well, if you're out on the public roads, you don't want to run without the headlight.
Tenn. laws requires you to run with the headlight on.
You can check out the other Tenn. state motorcycle laws at the AMA site, HERE.

I would use a relay and put it on the ground side, IF you just want to use a switch make sure it is strong enought to handel the amp draw, you dont want a switch to fail and cause your headlight to go out.

10 Will work on low beam but not on High, the stock fuse is 10 for the low headlight. As long as you have not upped the bulb to a larger one.

Couldn't you like take your hat and cover the light for a bit and than uncover it again, giving it the on and off effect???
If you inssist on a switch I would put it on the ground side. The ground is common to both high and low beam.
