Bike Mods

So, If I am reading this correctly.

When you just do an ear shave you do NOT have to rejet.
If you just do a Muffler/exhaust swap you do NOT have to rejet.
If you dx the goats belly you DO have to rejet.
If you do it all you DO have to rejet.

Am I correct?

Thanks,
Jmp

If you lower exhaust restriction appreciably, you should re-jet.

I'm ordering parts every chance I get and will give her the facelift this fall/winter. Next spring will be her Rebirthday. Ear shave, Pipes, Seat, Paint Job,Degoat, Pegs, Fwds, Bigger horn, Led lights to use less juice, Grips, handlebars, and a few other things. Thats the plan at least.

She's having a new tire put on the front right now (you know how women love shoes) and I will be lubing splines either tomorrow evening or Saturday morning.

Here is what I "know" from other vehicles: freer flowing intake and freer flowing exhaust means you need more fuel (larger jets in our case) to get the increased horse power. That is the rule of thumb that I have followed.

If you do the ear shave you might need to rejet. If you modify the exhaust, you might need to rejet. Each situation is potentially different.

exactly but if you do both you will have to rejet unless you like doing this more than you like doing this

i've done the ear shave and the only exhaust modification ive done is removing muffler tips. i've been running the jets listed in "phil's ear shave" and i run the mixture screws about 2 turns out. the plugs have always looked great and i have minimal popping on decel. that being said every bike is going to be a little different.
